The Communications and Media ITO is dedicated to providing quality workplace training to build the skills of our industries' employees and benefit the businesses they work in now and into the future.

Industry

We work closely with our industries - print & packaging, journalism and signmaking - to ensure the training we provide is up-to-date, relevant and meets the needs of the workforce. We engage directly with employers and staff to get feedback on current training and to identify areas where there is training potential.

We also work closely with the Industry Associations, PrintNZ and the New Zealand Sign & Display Association.

Government

CMITO is committed to adhering to the intent and funding policies set out by Government including the Tertiary Education Commission. We work closely with the NZQA, Industry Training Federation and other organisations involved in the industry training area.

Schools/Communities

CMITO engages with schools and the future employees of our industries' through participating and/or providing careers information for school careers events. We hold Careers Breakfasts for teachers interested in finding out more about our industries and the exciting opportunities available in regards to training and career pathways.
