Boost your business revenue with CMITO’s new on-job Sales qualification designed specifically for salespeople in the print, packaging, media and signmaking industries.

The National Certificate in Sales, available at Levels 3 and 4, has been developed in response to industry feedback, which identified a need for on-job training in this area.

“We are excited to offer this new qualification,” says Anne Benson, CMITO manager.

“Sales is a key area of all businesses, so having salespeople with the right skills, knowledge and confidence to carry out their role is vital to business success. This qualification will provide new staff with a solid foundation of knowledge to carry out their role or provide a refresher for experienced salespeople.”

CMITO worked with the Retail Institute and a group of other ITOs to develop resources and then refine them to meet the needs of the communications and media industries.

The Sales qualification covers the key areas of:

• Target markets, buyer behavior & the marketing mix
• Sales skills and tools
• Customer focused business relationships
• Communicating product information
• Negotiation skills
• Managing a sales territory

Trainees begin their training with some elective options, which provide skills such as leading a team and communicating in the workplace. Trainees progress through the qualification by completing modules which are sent in to CMITO to be assessed.

The qualification is ideal for salespeople new to the role or for those looking to progress their careers.

The on-job nature of the training means that skills a salesperson learns can be applied to the role immediately and tasks carried out as part of the role are used to answer questions in the training workbooks.

The qualifications take between 12 to 18 months to complete.
