Industry was urged to take full advantage of the Government’s $1000 subsidy for companies signing on new apprentices at the print industry Apprentice Awards and PrintNZ Conference Opening Dinner on 2 May.
After leaving school at age 15, screen printer Regan Quaife has taken out the print industry’s top training award – Apprentice of the Year, sponsored by ICON Digital Printing Papers.
Thinking of taking on a new apprentice?
The first 10,000 new apprentices who enrol across all trades from 6 March will get a $1000 Government grant towards their tools and off-job costs. Employers will receive $1000 for each apprentice they take on.
Apprentices need to be in training with CMITO for three months before they can apply for the subsidy.
